An ill and malnourished puppy went from destitution to prosperity after being noticed on the edge of a road. Jenny Desmond was driving through an isolated village in Liberia when she noticed the ailing puppy.
She knew her chances of survival were slim and that she was likely to perish within a day or two.
Desmond swiftly and skillfully orchestrated the pup’s rescue and transported her to the chimpanzee sanctuary she and her husband oversee. They save chimpanzees from the illegal pet industry and strive to safeguard Liberia’s remaining wild chimpanzees in their native environment.
In addition to her dedication to rescuing chimpanzees, Desmond has extended her help to a wide range of animals. As a member of the sanctuary’s team affirms, Desmond has come to the aid of various creatures, from chickens to grasshoppers.
The unfortunate puppy she rescued was treated with the same care. Fortunately, Desmond’s husband, Jim, who is a veterinarian, started providing medical attention to the puppy they named Snafu.
Snafu had to wear a protective cone to prevent her from scratching her wounds.
The rescued chimpanzees made sure to give her affectionate hugs.
After several months of nurturing, Snafu thrived and became robust and fit. Desmond coordinated for Snafu to have an incredible permanent residence in the United States. Watch the video to discover where Snafu is now and witness her remarkable transformation into a magnificent adult.
